SwRI has expanded its High Energy Annex Test (HEAT) facility with the capability to simulate the extreme conditions experienced at hypersonic speeds, which makes it possible to test technologies for hypersonic systems, such as scramjets, ramjets, small gas turbines and rocket thrusters in a controlled environment.
