A torso-coupled walking-support robot reads movement intent through touch (IMAGE)
Caption
The robot uses large-area tactile interfaces on both arms to maintain compliant contact with the user’s waist. Changes in contact location and force distribution continuously guide forward, backward and turning motion, while the same interface provides stabilizing support during balance disturbances.
