Schematic diagram of MOFs/POMOFs for photocatalytic C-H oxidation. (IMAGE)
Caption
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) integrate light-harvesting ligands, catalytic metal nodes, and guest polyoxometalates (POMs) within a single crystalline framework. Upon light irradiation, photogenerated electrons are rapidly injected into POM “electronic sponges,” suppressing charge recombination and generating reactive oxygen species (·O2-, 1O2, ·OH) that selectively oxidize various C-H bonds (aromatic, benzylic, allylic, and aliphatic) under mild conditions.
