Tau and amyloid PET findings in late-onset psychosis. (IMAGE)
Caption
(Top) Patients with late-onset psychosis (N = 37) showed a significantly higher rate of tau PET positivity compared to healthy controls (N = 47) (65% vs. 15%), as well as amyloid PET positivity (35% vs. 2%).
(Bottom) Representative florzolotau (18F) tau PET images from four patients. Case 1 represents an amyloid-positive (Alzheimer's disease) type, and Cases 2–4 represent amyloid-negative (non-Alzheimer's disease) types. White arrowheads indicate pathological tau accumulation, demonstrating the diverse regional patterns of tau pathology underlying late-onset psychosis.
