Schematic of the pixel-controlled programmable metasurface as a phase-type spatial terahertz modulator (IMAGE)
Caption
This schematic illustrates how a pixel-controlled programmable metasurface functions as a phase-type spatial terahertz modulator for dynamic holographic imaging. By optically addressing individual pixels with patterned pump beams, the device can encode spatial phase profiles across the metasurface and flexibly reshape the transmitted terahertz wavefront, enabling dynamic zoom meta-lensing, tunable focused vortex beams, and holographic image reconstruction from a single compact platform.
