Partial depletion of the GPVI receptor (IMAGE)
Caption
Partial depletion of the GPVI receptor (GPVILO) protects against thrombosis and acute lung injury. In mice with reduced GPVI, treatment that triggers an acute inflammatory response resulted in significantly less accumulation of platelets and neutrophils in the lungs. The two images show the difference: the control group is shown on the left, and a mouse with reduced GPVI on the right. Blood vessels are shown in magenta, platelets in cyan and neutrophils in yellow.
