MAPK-driven Nckap5+ macrophage expansion in Pneumocystis pneumonia (IMAGE)
Caption
scRNA-seq of PCP lungs in SCID mice revealed expansion of Ccr2⁺ monocyte-derived Nckap5⁺ macrophages with anti-inflammatory and pro-proliferative traits. MAPK pathway inhibition via Adezmapimod reversed Nckap5 induction and suppressed Il10, Arg1, and Tgfβ expression, identifying Nckap5⁺ macrophages as a potential therapeutic target in PCP.
