The 5-FU and FOS combination perturb bacterial pyrimidine metabolism, which causes membrane damage, PMF dissipation, elevated ATP and ROS production, ultimately leading to bacterial death. NCS1: neuronal calcium sensor 1; GlpT: glycolipid transfer protein; UhpT: sugar phosphate transporter.
