Concentration-gradient strategy for stable CO2 electroreduction to formate (IMAGE)
Caption
The schematic illustrates the core design of the concentration-gradient strategy: a high cation concentration in the anode chamber paired with a low concentration in the cathode chamber generates a reverse diffusion potential. This offsets the ohmic drop caused by unidirectional cation migration during electrolysis, stabilizing cell voltage and enabling continuous accumulation of high-concentration formate product.
