Ceramic papermaking–CVI derived scalable multiscale SiCf/SiCnw aerogels: hierarchical structure, thermal protection properties and radar stealth applications (IMAGE)
Caption
The multiscale SiCf/SiCnw aerogel features a hierarchical architecture comprising a macroscale fibrous scaffold with robust structural integrity, a microscale porous framework that effectively suppresses gaseous thermal conduction, and a nanoscale nanowire network introducing abundant heterogeneous interfaces for intensive interfacial polarization. The as-prepared hierarchical aerogel exhibits exceptional high-temperature thermal protection and radar stealth capabilities. Moreover, its scalable fabrication route, achieved via ambient ceramic papermaking and CVI, distinguishes it from conventional processing methodologies.
