Reaction Mechanism of Selective H2O2 Synthesis on Al2O3-Supported Pt-Pd Binary Catalyst (IMAGE)
Caption
This schematic illustrates the synergistic catalytic pathway for the selective synthesis of hydrogen peroxide over a bimetallic Pt-Pd catalyst supported on Al2O3. The left side highlights the electron donation effect that activates the Pt sites and the crucial metal-support interaction at the interface. The right side depicts the molecular adsorption and cleavage process: oxygen molecules first undergo end-on adsorption on the Pt sites, followed by O–O bond cleavage on the Pd sites, ultimately achieving highly selective H2O2 production.
