Twist-angle-dependent bandgap renormalization in bilayer WS2 (IMAGE)
Caption
Femtosecond transient absorption measurements show how increasing photoexcitation density renormalizes the quasiparticle bandgap in twisted bilayer WS2. Near the Mott transition, the bandgap renormalization changes from 645 to 751 meV across the measured twist angles and is most pronounced near 30 degrees, where the initial interlayer screening is weaker.
