DNA tetrahedra disarm the oxidative storm that fuels oral disease (IMAGE)
Caption
Pyramid-shaped tetrahedral framework nucleic acids (tFNAs) scavenge reactive oxygen species and deliver therapeutic cargo into cells, suppressing hyperactivated inflammatory signaling to drive soft-tissue repair and bone regeneration. (a) Oral pathogens trigger macrophage ROS overproduction; (b) rigid, biocompatible tFNAs act as an active radical-scavenging platform and a versatile nanocarrier for multi-drug co-delivery; (c) intracellular delivery of tFNAs suppresses inflammatory signaling, promoting tissue repair and bone regeneration.
