KAIST Predicts the Lifetime of Blue OLEDs by Measuring How Their Light Responds to a Magnetic Field (IMAGE)
Caption
Figure 3. Measurement of changes in OLED light emission under a magnetic field, and the principle of lifetime prediction. The left panel is a schematic of the measurement, in which a magnetic field is applied to an OLED operated at a constant current and the resulting change in light emission is measured. The right panel shows the relationship between the magnetic-field-based lifetime evaluation metric and the operational lifetime. The analysis was performed separately at the points where the luminance had decreased to 70% (LT₇₀) and 50% (LT₅₀) of its initial value, and both showed a strong linear correlation between the metric and the logarithm of the lifetime. The inset shows the metric for each device measured in the initial state (LT₁₀₀), before long-term operation.
