Wastewater as a source of sustainable potassium fertilizers. Graphical overview of a scoping review examining 110 publications on potassium recovery from wastewater. The study evaluates suitable wastewater sources, recovery technologies, and fertilizer products using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) framework, Scopus, and citation-network analysis. Key findings highlight ion exchange, electrodialysis, and potassium struvite precipitation as promising approaches, while revealing that most research remains at the laboratory scale, with a strong focus on solid fertilizers.
