Schematic illustration of the biodegradable spiny milli-ball robot (SMB-bot) for oral delivery and targeted intestinal drug administration. The robot can be loaded into a capsule and introduced into the gastrointestinal tract, where an external magnetic field guides it toward the target intestinal region. Core–shell microneedles integrated into the robot can be inserted into the intestinal mucosa under magnetic assistance to release the drug at the target site.
