Microscopic view of tea seedling roots (IMAGE)
Caption
Microscopic sections of tea seedling roots. The right panel (B) shows roots inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, with red arrows pointing to typical fungal vesicular structures. The left panel (A) is the non-inoculated control, showing no colonization. This symbiotic structure is what quietly boosts the plant's pest resistance. Scale bar = 50 μm.
