Intraoperative Dorsal Lung Ventilation Reduction and Postoperative Pulmonary Complications After Laparoscopic Colorectal Cancer Surgery (IMAGE)
Caption
The prospective cohort study shows that a ≥14.5% reduction in dorsal ventilation from baseline to surgery end (RDVT0–T3) was associated with higher postoperative pulmonary complication (PPC) rates and a longer hospital stay. RDVT0–T3 ≥14.5% was independently associated with PPCs (adjusted OR 11.28, 95% CI 2.58–49.25). Electrical impedance tomography enables real‑time monitoring to guide lung-protective ventilation.
