Douglas Mitchell, PhD, with the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, who is director of the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology, the William Kelly Warren Sr. Chair in Biochemistry, and professor of biochemistry and chemistry, along with his team including Ronald Alvarez, Brian Lehmann and Adam Rosenberg, have received the $450,000 Colleen C. Wilcox/Swim Across America Ovarian Cancer Innovation Grant to support their ovarian cancer work that looks to develop an innovative treatment strategy using lasso peptides and immunotherapy that could help the body's immune system recognize and attack ovarian cancer cells more effectively.
