Construction and effect evaluation of a composite microbial consortium for onion basal rot control and salt-alkali removal (IMAGE)
Caption
A five-member consortium combined two salt- and alkali-tolerant strains from onion rhizosphere soil, Staphylococcus sciuri LAB2, Exiguobacterium acetylicum LAB3.2, Bacillus velezensis MP6, B. halotolerans SYP202 and Trichoderma harzianum M3 at an orthogonal-design-optimized ratio of 9: 9: 3: 7: 5. The resulting consortium A3 (ultimately designated “Tuweiwei No. 9”) inhibited Fusarium oxysporum by 95.15% and, in pot experiments, controlled onion basal rot with 73.3% efficacy while lowering soil pH by 0.5 units, reducing soluble salt concentration by 44.46 mS/cm and promoting onion growth.
