The histogram charts the distribution by publication date of nearly 600 references covered in the Quantum Biology 2.0 review article in Protein Science. Though there is a deliberate focus on the last decade of investigations, including both fundamental theoretical developments and state-of-the-art quantum sensing/imaging platforms for biological systems, the Kurian Group's 2026 review gives a clear vision for where the field is headed, by reaching back and integrating several lines of inquiry across the biological, chemical, physical, and quantum sciences.
