The pie on the left shows a traditional estimate of the relative richness of different groups of organisms based on numbers of described species (Wilson 1992), the middle shows an estimate based on projected richness of different groups (Mora et al. 2011), and the pie on the right shows estimates based on the projected richness of different groups in the present study.
