Faith, daughter of Colette and Ivan Hagler, was the first in Texas to undergo fetal surgery by a UTHealth/Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital maternal-fetal medicine team to repair spina bifida. An active, happy child, she turned 5 on July 4. The team has just published research on a new patch that uses cryopreserved human umbilical cord.
