Map of Africa and skull of specimen EA6738, a mummified baboon recovered from ancient Thebes (modern-day Luxor) and now accessioned in the British Museum. Isotopic analysis of EA6738 indicates import from somewhere in the red shaded region, a likely location for the fabled land of Punt.
