A rat grasping for a piece of sugar. The photos show an entire grasping sequence. The green dots mark the forelimb position after fixed intervals. Forelimb function was disturbed by stroke. The rat received growth-promoting immunotherapy and rehabilitative training to restore grasping function. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the 13 June, 2014, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by A.S. Wahl at ETH Zurich in Zurich, Switzerland, and colleagues was titled, "Asynchronous therapy restores motor control by rewiring of the rat corticospinal tract after stroke."
