This tiger moth, Bertholdia trigona, is the first animal known to defend itself by jamming the sonar of its predator, bats. This image relates to an article that appeared in the July 17, 2009, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. A. J. Corcoran of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., and colleagues, was titled, "Tiger Moth Jams Bat Sonar."
