The image shows sections though livers of mice. Mice exposed to second-hand smoke in the lab accumulated excess fat in their liver cells (top); mice exposed to smoke-free air, on the other hand, were spared fat accumulation in their liver cells (bottom). The red stains in the image indicate lipid (fat) droplets.
