Materials used in this work are perylene-tetracarboxylic-dianhydride (red powder), phenanthroline (white powder), Black Pearls 2000 (black powder), ferrous acetate (brown-orange powder), hardened steel vial and cover used for planetary ball-milling, ¼ inch diameter chrome steel balls used as grinding media. This image relates to an article that appeared in the April 3, 2009, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. Michel Lefèvre of INRS, Energie, Materiaux et. Telecommunication in Varennes, Quebec, Canada, and colleagues was titled, "Iron-Based Catalysts with Improved Oxygen Reduction Activity in Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells."
