Sunita Dodani, an epidemiologist, cardiologist and new assistant dean of research for the MCG School of Nursing, is studying a group of Augusta immigrants to find out whether South Asian immigrants' higher rates of coronary artery disease are linked to a genetic mutation that causes dysfunctional HDL, the "so-called good" cholesterol.
