Topological Transport of Sound Mediated By Spin-redirection Geometric Phase (1 of 1) (VIDEO)
Caption
Twist makes a difference. Sound vortex traveling in a twisted tube (left) acquires an extra phase compared with the same in an untwisted tube of equal length (right). This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 16, 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by Shubo Wang at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong, China, and colleagues was titled, "Topological transport of sound mediated by spin-redirection geometric phase."
