University of Queensland (UQ) avocado PhD researcher Chris O'Brien, who is supervised by UQ's Professor Neena Mitter and Dr Raquel Folgado from The Huntington Botanical Gardens in California, has developed the first critical steps to create a cryopreservation protocol for avocado, which has never been achieved until now, despite more than 40 years of research.
