Wrapping up DNA for a Cell (VIDEO)
Caption
This video demonstrates how nucleosomes compact into higher-order chromatin fibers and how the hierarchical packaging of eukaryotic chromatin plays a central role in transcriptional regulation and other DNA-related biological processes. This video relates to a paper that appeared in Apr. 25, 2014, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Feng Song at Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China, and colleagues was titled, "Cryo-EM Study of the Chromatin Fiber Reveals a Double Helix Twisted by Tetranucleosomal Units."
