This is an SEM image of defensive neckteeth in a juvenile Daphnia pulex. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Feb. 4, 2011, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. John Colbourne of Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., and colleagues was titled, "The Ecoresponsive Genome of Daphnia pulex."
