Nanoscale Surface Patterns Change Coercivity of Magnetic Material

By creating a nanoscale corduroy pattern on the surface of nickel ferrite (NFO) thin films, researchers have been able to lower the coercivity of the NFO by 30 to 80 percent, depending on the thickness of the film.
