Cover of the new report from the Cool Coalition and partners. UNEP helped form the coalition in recognition that almost one-third of humanity faces dangerous temperatures for more than 20 days a year, while heatwaves cause 12,000 deaths annually. Staying cool is a health and productivity issue. Equitable access to cooling is needed to protect people against extreme heat, keep food fresh, vaccines stable, and much more. But the more we cool, the more we heat the planet. "We need a rethink."
