Elankurmaran Subbiah, a virologist with the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology (www.vetmed.vt.edu/Organization/Departments/DBSP/) at Virginia Tech, and Siba K. Samal, associate dean, University of Maryland, were awarded a Department of Defense "Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program" grant to support their ongoing work using a genetically modified version of Avian Newcastle disease virus to treat prostate cancer in humans.
