(a) The accretion disk model with the disk surface temperature. (b) The model dust emission map derived from the disk model. This model map is roughly the same as the observed map of the disk. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the April 19, 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by C.-F. Lee at Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics in Taipei, Taiwan, and colleagues was titled, 'First detection of equatorial dark dust lane in a protostellar disk at submillimeter wavelength.'
