Skills that we do without thinking are controlled at conscious and unconscious levels. In typing, the part of us that is thinking about what to type uses feedback from the screen, but the part of us that is doing the typing without thinking uses feedback from the feel of the keys. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Oct. 29, 2010, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. G.D. Logan and Dr. M.J.C. Crump at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, was titled, "Cognitive Illusions of Authorship Reveal Hierarchical Error Detection in Skilled Typists."
