Photo1 (IMAGE) CNRS Caption The CNRS Gold Medal was created in 1945 as one of the most prestigious French scientific awards. This year it will distinguish the physicist Jean Dalibard for his pioneering research in the physics of ultracold quantum matter. He has made major contributions to the emergence of quantum technologies, which are based on a deep understanding of the quantum properties of matter and how to control them.
