Prothonotary Warblers (Protonotaria citrea) inspect a possible nest site at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Laurel, Maryland. Prothonotary Warblers are one of more than 500 species monitored by the North American Breeding Bird Survey. The current issue of The Condor: Ornithological Applications includes a collection of papers presented at the 2016 North American Ornithological Conference, in a session celebrating the survey's 50th anniversary.
