Neuropeptidergic Modulation of Flight in Drosophila (IMAGE)
Caption
The image summarizes our study of a neuropeptide receptor that modulates flight behavior in the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. The various hexagons with images depict the depth of our investigation from behavior, to neurons and finally the molecular details. Images from top, running clockwise are: a silhouette of a fly in flight, schematic of the fly head with its brain shown in red, central dopaminergic neurons of the fly brain, PPL1 cluster of dopaminergic neurons, a neuropeptide ligand with its GPCR and a voltage gated-Ca2+ channel on the plasma membrane.
