NIST LED Photometry Lab In Action (VIDEO)
Caption
ompanies that make solid-state lighting products, such as LEDs, rely on calibration labs like this one at NIST to test the output of their lamps. NIST scientists recently renovated the lab they use for these tests, allowing them to make some of the best photometry measurements in the world. Previously, scientists set up lights and detectors by hand before each test. Now that the tests are automated, measurements can be done in half the time.
