Dr. Ronny Engelmann from TROPOS supervises the lidar measurements in the OCEANET container on the foredeck of Polarstern during the first section of the MOSAiC expedition. From the lidar only the green scattered light can be seen in the roof hatch. The laser beam itself cannot be seen because of the relatively clean air on the ground.
