On Sept. 16 at 12:53 a.m. EDT (0453 UTC) NASA's Aqua satellite analyzed Hurricane Teddy's cloud top temperatures using the AIRS instrument. AIRS showed the strongest storms with the coldest cloud top temperatures were as cold as or colder than 210 Kelvin (purple) minus 81 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 63.1 degrees Celsius).
