Antioxidant treatment with NAC prevented osteoarthritis and mitigated cartilage damage in the knee joints of mice deficient in <i>Anp32</i> (right column). This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Sep. 12, 2018, issue of <i>Science Translational Medicine</i>, published by AAAS. The paper, by F.M.F. Cornelis at KU Leuven in Leuven, Belgium; and colleagues was titled, "ANP32A regulates ATM expression and prevents oxidative stress in cartilage, brain, and bone."
