Hyperactivation of AMPK in Mice with HD (IMAGE)
Caption
Injection of an AMPK activator (right) increased the number of apoptotic neurons (red) in the striatum of mice with Huntington’s disease (HD) compared to control cells (left). A new study in The Journal of Cell Biology describes how hyperactivation of AMPK promotes neurodegeneration in HD.
