Electrospinning Nanofiber (VIDEO)
Caption
Drexel University researchers spin a fibrous mat out of a carbon nanofiber precursor. The mat will be coated in carbon and an ionogel to produce a solid-state electrode. This new, free-standing electrode eliminates need for flammable electrolyte solutions in energy storage devices, thus eliminating the risk of leakage, fire and explosions.
