Researchers at KAIST explain that their newly-developed microchip consumes less than 0.75W of energy with the data transmission speed of 100 Gbps, ideal for next- generation data centers. The chip will use only one-third of the electricity consumed by the currently installed chips at data centers, thereby helping the centers to improve energy efficiency.
