Jefferson S. Hall, staff scientist at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, directs the Agua Salud Project, a 700 hectare experiment in the Panama Canal Watershed. With funding from the HSBC Climate Partnership, the experiment is aimed at measuring how land use practices affect water flow, carbon storage and biodiversity in Panama's tropical lowlands.
