Revealing the Sources of Black Carbon Aerosols Polluting the Arctic (3 of 6)

The Dr. Neil Trivett Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Observatory is the most northerly site in the global network, located at Alert, Nunavut, Canada (approximately 800km south of the geographic North Pole). Environment and Climate Change Canada operates the observatory, which hosts research campaigns and facilitates long-term measurements of a number of atmospheric constituents including greenhouse gases, aerosols including black carbon, stratospheric ozone, Persistent Organic Pollutants, mercury, etc.. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 13, 2019, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by P. Winiger at Stockholm University in Stockholm, Sweden, and colleagues was titled, "Source apportionment of circum-Arctic atmospheric black carbon from isotopes and modeling."
